John J. Nanfro, MD, FACP

Dr. Nanfro is triple-board certified in Hematology, Medical Oncology, and Palliative Care.  He graduated from Albany (NY) Medical College and completed his Internal Medicine internship at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, and residency at the Naval Regional Medical Center, Sand Diego.  Dr. Nanfro completed his Hematology-Oncology Fellowship also at the Naval Regional Medical Center, San Diego.  He then went on to post-fellowship training at the Scripps Clinic Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation with Dr. Ernest Beutler and Robert MacMillan in La Jolla, CA.  Dr. Nanfro was Chief of Hematology at the National Cancer Institute, Bethesda.

He has a deep commitment to patient care and is uplifting in demeanor due to his passion for humor, rock music, and movies.  In fact, an actor played Dr. Nanfro in the movie, "My Father, My Son" as the Navy's leading expert on Agent Orange.
