Heart Ready Community

Jackson Hospital has trained over 300 community members, high school students, personnel from Marianna Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff's Department and the Jackson County School Board in CPR and the use of automated external defibrillators (AED). The training course, developed by the American Heart Association, meets requirements for lay rescuers who must complete a CPR AED course. The training was coordinated with the Jackson County AED Task Force, created to strengthen then "chain of survival" in our community by working together to "coordinate the placement of AEDs, provide necessary training, and increase public awareness regarding sudden cardiac arrest." Jackson Hospital's participation in this program makes it a Heart Ready Community.
