November 9, 2017 Marianna, FL - .The Employee Leadership Council of Jackson Hospital has selected US Military Veteran and Registered Nurse, Cindy Brown as Employee of the Month for September. Cindy is a Chemotherapy-trained nurse in the Hospital’s Infusion Center.


Cindy was selected for identifying a need a patient had outside his routine medical care.  She did everything she could to locate replacement tires for his vehicle so he could travel safely out of town for supplementary treatment.   The patient described Cindy’s action to help him “…[no-one] had ever done anything so nice for him and just strictly out of kindness.” 


When recognized as the Employee of the Month, Cindy said, “I was shocked to be recognized for doing something I saw as helping out.”  A new employee of Jackson Hospital, Cindy joined Jackson Hospital’s highly skilled Infusion Staff in January 2017.


Jackson Hospital’s customer service ideals are outlined in its program called “Give ‘em the Pickle.”  The hospital’s customized program with video titled “What’s your Pickle?” with Bob Farrell, produced by Media Partners™, is implemented by Chief Nursing Officer Robbin Catt Pumphrey.   “Because of our employee-focused customer service efforts, Jackson Hospital is ranked nationally in the top 20% in customer service according to HealthStream Research,” says Pumphrey. 


Patients, visitors, and colleagues submit nominations of staff from whom they received superior customer service.  Each month a “Pickle” luncheon is held to recognize the top nominees.
