Jimmy Spooner LPN is Jackson Hospital’s June Employee of the Month
June 28, 2018 Marianna, FL - Marianna resident and ER staff member Jimmy Spooner LPN is awarded Jackson Hospital’s Employee of the Month for June 2018.
During the June 22nd recognition luncheon, Hospital CEO Jim Platt expressed thanks on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Administration, and employees, indicating the number of great things employees achieved during the month. He said, “Our biggest strength is our staff and culture providing excellent care to patients.”
Jimmy was named Employee of the Month for driving a patient back home to Chattahoochee, FL, as the patient had no transportation and was just about to set out walking in the midst of a thunderstorm. Jimmy had finished his shift and noticed the patient on foot leaving the ER.
Being invited to his third Pickle Luncheon, Jimmy is a standout employee who goes above and beyond to assist his fellow employees and to provide excellent patient care in the ER. Being named Employee of the Month, Jimmy said, “I was very surprised to be recognized as I had only commented about what I was doing to a close circle of colleagues.”
Jimmy will mark his first year of employment with Jackson Hospital in August and says, “Jackson Hospital is a great place to work and everyone goes the extra mile.”
The Hospital’s ER sees over 2,400 patients a month who require emergency health care from the traditional ER setting or for urgent issues via its Fast Track service. Last year, Jackson Hospital expanded immediate medical care access with Chipola Quick Care, a 7-day per week walk-in healthcare service for minor illness and injury at the intersection of US 90 E and State Road 71S.
Jackson Hospital’s customer service ideals are outlined in its program called “Give ‘em the Pickle.” The Hospital’s customized program with video titled “What’s your Pickle?” with Bob Farrell, produced by Media Partners™, is implemented by Chief Nursing Officer Robbin Catt Pumphrey.
Patients, visitors, and colleagues submit nominations of staff from whom they received superior customer service. Each month a “Pickle” luncheon is held to recognize the top nominees. During the exclusive celebration with Administration, each participant is served a specially prepared meal by members of the Hospital’s Employee Leadership Council.
Jackson Hospital is proud to recognize Jimmy Spooner LPN and thanks him along with every employee, volunteer, and Medical Staff member for providing high-quality, leading-edge healthcare service. Each day Jackson Hospital moves closer to reaching its vision of “being the best community healthcare system in the nation.”
