Jackson Hospital Board Member Retires


Jackson Hospital announced today that Kathy Sloan, will retire from their board of trustees after nine and a half years of service. Holt Floyd, Chairman of the Hospital’s Board of Trustees presented Sloan with a plaque and stated, “On behalf of Jackson Hospital we thank you for your service. It is due to the efforts of people like you that Jackson Hospital is growing towards its vision of being the best community health care system in the nation.”

Sloan was instrumental in decisions involving the recent $8.5 million hospital renovation and numerous other accomplishments at Jackson Hospital. During her tenure, Sloan chaired the Finance Committee and the Physician Recruitment Committee, was the Secretary/Treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee. Sloan also served on the Building and Grounds Committee and still serves on the Jackson Hospital Foundation Board. “Ms. Sloan is an exceptional leader and will be missed on the Board,” stated Floyd. “As a local business owner and long-time resident of Jackson County, she brought valuable insight into Board,” he added. Sloan is the corporate officer of Baxter’s Asphalt & Concrete. The nine Trustees of the hospital are local residents and business leaders appointed by the Governor of the State of Florida.
