Mandy Hecht, RN, is Jackson Hospital’s March Employee of the Month
Caring for patients extends to family members

April 27, 2017 Marianna, FL - Nurse Mandy Hecht is Jackson Hospital’s March Employee of the Month.  She is a “boomerang” employee who spent the early part of 2000 at Jackson Hospital, then went on to an outside position, and returned in February 2016 to join the Emergency Department clinical staff.

Mandy now resides in Sneads, FL, after having spent time away from Jackson Hospital as a traveling nurse working in far flung places such as Anchorage, Alaska; Boston, Massachusetts; and Los Angeles, California.  We’re glad she is back home and providing clinical nursing to patients arriving at Jackson Hospital’s ER.

In March, there were 30 nominations for Pickle of the Month.  When Mandy was selected, she said, “Who you are, what you do, is an example for everyone else.”  Mandy saw an ER patient in need when she had to bring her baby to the ER while seek emergency care.  Due to the woman’s emergency, she had not had time to bring baby necessities;  Mandy took her meal break and brought back a box of food for the baby.

Jackson Hospital’s customer service ideals are outlined in its program called “Give ‘em the Pickle” which rolled out in 2012.  The hospital’s customized program with video titled “What’s your Pickle?” with Bob Farrell, produced by Media Partners™, is implemented by Chief Nursing Officer Robbin Catt Pumphrey.   “Because of our employee-focused customer service efforts, Jackson Hospital is ranked nationally in the top 25% in customer service according to HealthStream Research,” says Pumphrey.

Patients, visitors, and colleagues submit nominations of staff from whom they received superior customer service.  Each month a “Pickle” luncheon is held to recognize the top nominees.

Jackson Hospital is proud to recognize Mandy Hecht, RN, and thanks her along with every employee, volunteer, and Medical Staff member for providing high-quality, leading-edge healthcare service.  Each day Jackson Hospital moves closer to reaching its vision of “being the best community healthcare system in the nation.”

With its top-ranked customer service, high quality and safe patient care, the hospital is forward-thinking in expanding needed services with its $17M OR expansion, now open Chipola Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine Center and Chipola Quick Care.  The hospital, located at 4250 Hospital Drive, Marianna, FL, has 33 physicians on its active Medial Staff.  For information on hospital services, visit www.jacksonhosp.com.  For physician referral, please call Rachel Toliver at (850) 718-2629.
