The multi-specialty medical and surgical practice adds another OB/GYN
July 29, 2015, Marianna, FL. Today, Jackson Hospital’s CEO, Larry Meese announces that on August 1st, local OB/GYN, Dr. Orlando Muniz, along with Nurse Practitioner Rita Smith Pruette, and their staff, will be joining Chipola Surgical & Medical Specialties Group, the largest, multi-specialty medical and surgical practice in the region.
Mr. Meese says, “As the only hospital with Labor and Delivery service in our part of Florida, we continue to grow and are excited to add another OB/GYN physician and provider to the group of talented primary care and specialty physicians and nurse practitioners.”
Dr. Muniz is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Board-certified OB/GYN physician. The practice of Obstetrics is the care of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the recuperative period following delivery. Gynecology is both medical and surgical with focus on the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the female reproductive system.
Rita, who has served as a Provider with Dr. Muniz since 2006, holds a Doctorate in Nurse Practice from the University of Alabama, Birmingham. She is a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner with specialization in providing care in non-metropolitan settings. Her interest is assessing, diagnosing, and treating female patients ages 12 and up.
Dr. Muniz and Rita make their practice name change to Chipola Surgical & Medical Specialties on August 1st while keeping all the same friendly and helpful staff. The office location remains in the Hudnall Medical Building, 4230 Hospital Drive, Suite 209, Marianna. The new practice hours are Monday-Thursday, 8am-5pm; Friday 8am-12noon.
